Florida Panther Conservation Bank
Protecting Habitat. Connecting Landscapes. Securing a Future.
Florida Panther Conservation Bank (FPCB) set a new standard in conservation banking as the first Habitat Conservation Bank in Florida approved and certified by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, dedicated to the Florida panther. Spanning nearly 2,000 acres within the Primary Zone of the Panther Focus Area, Spanning nearly 2,000 acres within the Primary Zone of the Panther Focus Area, the Bank was strategically designed to protect high-quality habitat at scale while generating measurable conservation value in the form of Panther Habitat Units (PHUs), the functional currency of panther mitigation.
Building on that success, Florida Panther Conservation Bank II expanded its impact as the first to be approved and certified for both the Florida panther and the wood stork. Located within the Dispersal Zone, this nearly 500-acre property plays a key role in maintaining habitat connectivity by linking conserved lands to the south with expansion areas north of the Caloosahatchee River, and contributing to a larger, interconnected conservation landscape.
Phase II of the Florida Panther Conservation Bank II continues this effort. Situated directly north of Bank II, it further strengthens regional connectivity by extending protected corridors and reinforcing links between adjacent conservation lands and supporting a more resilient landscape for the Florida panther.
